Metro Detroit · Launching this fall
Somebody's
always nearby.
Flare is the operating system for every business that comes to the customer — dispatch, scheduling, invoicing, crew tracking, and the customers themselves. One app. You pay us nothing on the work you already had — and nothing at all until we start sending you customers.
until metro Detroit goes live — …
A map with nobody on it is a dead map. Flare opens to the public when 100 metro Detroit businesses are on it — enough that a customer in Ferndale, Warren, Dearborn or Royal Oak opens the app and actually sees somebody. Hit 100 early and we go early.
Pioneers pay nothing until Flare sends them work. No card, no commitment to hold a seat.
01 — Why this exists
You're paying two companies
and getting half a business.
Right now a mobile business in metro Detroit pays one company for software that schedules jobs, and a different company for leads that three of your competitors also bought. Neither one actually brings you a customer who chose you.
"I bought the lead. So did four other guys."
Shared leads get sold 3–8 times. You pay $10–55 to be one voice in a race to the bottom, and you pay whether you win or not.
Flare: no lead fees. A customer picks you and only you."The software is great. It brought me zero customers."
Every field-service platform on the market schedules, dispatches and invoices. Not one of them puts a customer in front of you.
Flare: the schedule and the customer, same app."I can't tell what it costs until I sit through a demo."
Most of the industry hides pricing behind a sales call, then quotes you off what your truck count says you can afford.
Flare: the price is on this page. That's the price."My guys pass on work and I never find out."
Jobs get declined in the field and the owner sees nothing until the week's numbers come in short.
Flare: every pass, every decline, on your screen live.02 — How it works
Four steps. That's the whole thing.
Light your flare
Open the app, hit the button. You're on the live map with your service radius, your menu and your hours. Done for the day? One tap and you're off it.
A customer nearby sees you
They search their need or browse who's working right now. Your profile, your real prices, your reviews from real completed jobs.
You dispatch it
Send it to the closest open crew, or let them claim it. Route, drive time, and what the job actually pays you after labor — before you accept.
You get paid direct
The customer pays you, into your account, through your own processor. Flare never touches a dollar of it. We bill you a percentage of the jobs we sent you — and nothing on the rest.
Rather watch it than read it?
Follow one job start to finish →
or
watch all four screens at once →
The customer's phone, the owner's console, the dispatcher's board and the crew's phone, side by side, one job moving through all of them.
Want to run it yourself instead of watching?
Try the real console →
No signup, no account, nothing to undo. Put in your own job, your own price, your own crew size — it runs the same math a live job would, both sides, right in your browser.
Selling over a counter? There's a whole page for you →
Food trucks, ice cream trucks, coffee carts, a stand at a fair — mobile or not. That's a different business, so it's a different deal: $29.99 a month and 3% on orders that come through Flare. Orders you take at your own window are free, same as everybody's own customers. There's no “first customer” rate, because a taco isn't an introduction.
03 — Everything in the box
The whole operation,
on your phone and your desk.
Anything tagged CREW or FLEET tells you which tier unlocks it. Everything untagged is in every paid tier, including Just the basics.
The live map — customers find you
This is the part nobody else has. Your business appears to real people near you the moment you're working.
- Set your service radius — you get flares from miles out, not just your block
- Open now / browse by category / search by need — three ways a customer lands on you
- Rotation built in — flares spread across the businesses nearby instead of the same three taking everything
- Auto shut-off so you stop getting pinged after hours
Dispatch
Assign, route and track the day without a phone tree.
- Drag a job onto a crew, or open it up and let the closest one claim it
- Live crew locations while they're clocked on
- Every pass and decline logged to the owner — you see what your guys turned down
- 5-minute "on the way" alert to the customer, 30-minute no-show escalation to you
- CREW Dedicated dispatcher seat
The schedule page
One page. Today down the left, your people across the top. If you can read a calendar you can run this — that's the entire design goal.
- Day, week and month. Drag a job to move it, drag its edge to make it longer
- Recurring work set once — every Tuesday, first of the month, every other week
- Double-booking and drive-time conflicts turn red before you make them, not after
- Recurring work is how you avoid retyping. Set a customer’s Tuesday once and it books itself forward — bulk import from a spreadsheet or calendar isn’t built yet, and it’s on the list
- Export all of it, any time. Your schedule, jobs, customers and hours. It's your business, not our hostage
- The same schedule on the phone — your crew opens the app and sees only their day, and works the job from it
True profit — one button
Every job shows you two numbers by default: what the customer pays, and what we charge. That's it. Press True profit and it opens up to show the rest.
- Set an hourly rate per person once. Time on site × that rate is your labor — nothing clever, nothing hidden
- Job − Flare = what you keep. Job − Flare − labor = true profit. Two views, one button
- Optional: add truck and drive cost per mile if you track it. Off unless you turn it on
- Profit per job, per crew, per category, per week — once there's enough history to mean something
- A quiet flag when a quote won't clear the floor you set
Your menu, your prices
You build the menu. Flat prices, ranges, "call for quote," add-ons, minimums — whatever's true for your shop.
- Changes go live to your public page instantly — no publish step, no sync
- Templates per trade to start from, then make it yours
- Seasonal items you turn on and off (plowing, gutters, AC tune-ups)
- Milkshakes if you sell milkshakes. It's your menu.
QR codes that build your reviews
Free printable signs, stickers and truck decals with your own QR. A scan lands on your profile, not a directory of your competitors.
- Only customers with a completed job can review — no bought stars, no review bombing
- You respond to every review publicly
- Photo proof: before/after, in-app camera only, at the job site
Safety & getting paid
Two directions of protection, because both sides get burned in this business.
- The customer starts the payment — a crew marking "done" is a request, not a charge
- Job completion is geofenced to the address
- 24-hour auto-confirm so honest work doesn't sit unpaid
- EIN and licence checked at signup — no unlicensed guys on this map
- Strike system with a real consistency clause. Bad actors come off.
Your books, without typing it twice
Every closed job exports as one file that imports straight into QuickBooks. No connecting accounts, no permissions screen, no sync to go wrong.
- One file, any date range — formatted for QuickBooks' sales-receipt import, so it lands without hand-mapping columns
- Every job tagged Flare or your own work, so you can see at year end exactly what we brought you and what you brought yourself
- Plain CSV too, the full version with labor, truck cost, margin and hours per job — Xero and every accountant takes it
- Export all of it, any time, free, whether you're staying or leaving. It's your business, not our hostage
- Not built yet A live two-way QuickBooks connection. Today it's an export you run, not a sync that runs itself.
The Command Console $49/mo
Everything above on a real screen. You don't run a 15-truck company off a phone — and this is a full piece of software, so it's priced like one. Flat per company, not per seat, unlimited desktop logins.
- Full-width dispatch board, drag and drop
- Map, crew list and job queue on screen at the same time
- Seat management, payroll hours, profit reports
- Free once you're at 10+ seats — at that point you're paying us plenty
- Pioneers: $29/mo, for life
- FLEET Remote approval for quotes & discounts
- CREW Roles: owner, dispatcher, crew lead, field

What you're paying now,
versus what this costs.

Competitor list prices taken from public pricing pages, August 2026. ServiceTitan does not publish pricing; figures shown are commonly-reported ranges. Angi moved away from shared leads in January 2025, and the FTC's 2023 order against HomeAdvisor over lead quality carried penalties up to $7.2M — cited here because it's the model we're deliberately not copying.
05 — Pricing
Nothing on the work
you already had.
Start at the bottom and add what you want, or take a bundle we already put together. A bundle costs less than the same pieces bought one at a time — building your own costs a little more, and that's not a penalty, it's the price of getting exactly what you want. Either way the introduction fee is charged only on jobs Flare actually sent you. Your own customers, your referrals, the neighbour who saw your truck: no percentage, forever. The monthly is for the software — the dispatch board, the crew app, the schedule, true margin, mileage, the books — and that works from day one whether we ever send you anybody or not.
$0 on the work you already had
Your existing customers, your repeat jobs, the neighbour who saw your truck. Run all of it through Flare and there’s no percentage on any of it — you’re paying for the software, the way you would for any other tool. The percentage only ever applies to customers we found you.
Solo? There's a free way to be here
Presence is $29.99 a month. You're on the map, your prices are public, flares come to your phone. You pay the same introduction fee everybody pays — 7%, or 4% as a Pioneer. What you don't get is the dispatch board, the crew app or the schedule; those are what the higher tiers buy, and they're the part that earns its keep before a single flare arrives.
We lose if you don't win
Nobody else in this market can say that. Thumbtack bills you for the attempt. Jobber bills you whether your phone rings or not. We get paid on a job you actually collected, or we don't get paid.
Every price on this page comes straight out of our billing system — there is no separate “sales price”. What you're quoted here is what the invoice says.
The introduction fee — and where it stops
Your customer never sees it and never pays it. They pay you, direct, through your own processor. We bill you at the end of the month like any other vendor.
| Where the job came from | What we charge | |
|---|---|---|
| A customer Flare found you — first job | 7% | Pioneers: 4%, for as long as the account stays open |
| That same customer, every job after | 4% | Pioneers: 3%. Cheaper than the introduction, and it never goes up |
| Food truck, ice cream truck, any counter | 3% | Plus $29.99 a month. One flat rate on orders that come through Flare — there is no “first taco” |
| Your own customer | 0% | Forever, on every package. We never brought them |
| Cancelled, refunded or a no-show | 0% | You never pay on money you didn’t collect |
| Any package, any trade | Same rate | A package buys seats and software. It never buys a cheaper fee |
Seats come with it. Five people are included in the floor and eight in The Crew — anybody past that is $25 a month. You don’t move up a tier to add a person; you add a person.
06 — The Pioneer 100
First hundred businesses
in metro Detroit.
Not a discount code — a permanent status, in writing. You're the reason the map isn't empty, and the terms below don't expire, don't reset, and can't be changed on you later.
- ✓You pay nothing until Flare sends you work. Not "six months from signup" — nothing at all until the map is live and a customer we found lands on your phone. If that never happens, you never owe us a dollar. That's in the agreement, not just on this page.
- ✓Then six months free, starting from your first Flare job. Not from the day you signed.
- ✓4% instead of 7% on an introduction, and 3% instead of 4% on every job after. Cheaper than a standard account on every kind of work, not just the first one. Written into your agreement so it survives any future price change — and the only thing that ends it is closing the account. A suspension doesn’t, and neither does a lapsed certificate you fix.
- ✓The Command Console at $29 a month instead of $49, for life — and free once you're at ten seats, same as everyone. Seats themselves are included in every plan before they're charged, so a solo operator never pays us a monthly fee at all.
- ✓Bring another business and you both get $25. Theirs comes off their kit the day they sign up; yours lands once they’re still here a month later — so nobody gets paid for a signup that was never going to stick. No cap on how many. And while the first hundred places last, your invitation carries a pioneer place with it.
- ✓Your place in your trade is held. Flare caps how many businesses of one kind it carries in an area, so flares don’t get split thin — and Pioneers are counted first when that cap fills.
- ✓Pioneer badge and your number on your public profile, permanently. Customers see who was here first.
- ✓You get my cell. Not a ticket queue. And the first ten of you get a seat on the founding council that decides what gets built next.
What that adds up to: on a $285 job we send you, you pay $11.40 instead of the $250 or so it would cost you in shared leads to land the same job somewhere else — and $5.70 every time that customer comes back. On the work you brought yourself, you pay nothing. And if we never send you anything, you never pay at all.
Seat held. I'll call the number you gave within two business days — it'll be a Michigan number. We'll go through your menu, your service radius and your crew, and you'll be live on the map the day we launch.
07 — Straight answers
Questions I get asked.
Do you take a percentage of my jobs?
Only the ones we send you. 7% the first time we hand you a customer — 4% if you’re a pioneer — then 4% on every job after with that same person, or 3% as a pioneer. Zero on everything else: your own customers, your referrals, the neighbour who saw your truck. The introduction is what costs; staying with them costs less and never goes up.
We also never touch your customer's money. They pay you directly, through your own processor, into your own account. At month end we bill you, like any other vendor.
And worth knowing, because most people don't: you're already paying a percentage on everything. Jobber takes 2.9% + 30¢ of every card payment. Housecall Pro takes up to 3.49% on anything keyed in, saved on file, or paid with an Amex — on every job, including the ones they had nothing to do with. Pull your merchant statement and add it up.
Why should I pay you more than Jobber or Housecall Pro?
You shouldn't, unless the map works. Those are good products and they're cheaper on paper. Neither one has ever sent a business a single customer, and neither one is trying to — Housecall Pro actually shut down its consumer app in September 2025. If Flare doesn't bring you work, don't pay for it. That's why the first hundred businesses pay nothing until we send them a job — and then six months free from that job.
Monthly or annual?
Both. Month to month, cancel whenever — or pay for the year and get two months free. The introduction fee is billed monthly either way, on jobs you actually collected from customers we introduced — 7% on the first job with each one, 4% on every job after (4% and 3% for pioneers). Annual plans are paid up front and non-refundable once the term starts; that's stated here rather than in paragraph nine of a contract.
What happens if a customer complains about me?
One complaint is a conversation, not a punishment. The strike system escalates: a warning, then a temporary drop in map placement, then suspension from the map only. Even suspended, you keep your dispatch board, your schedule, your crew, your customers and your books — you just stop receiving new flares until it's sorted. Nobody's operations get shut off over a bad week.
Is this just for lawn care?
No — and if the site ever reads that way, tell me. Flare covers roughly 76 categories across eight groups: outdoor and property, home and trades, cleaning and hauling, auto and roadside, tech and devices, personal and pets, food and vendors, and a genuine "everything else." Mobile welders, notaries, mobile mechanics, phone repair techs, barbers, pet groomers. If your work happens somewhere other than a storefront, you belong here. If your category isn't in the list, put it in the form — the list is a starting point, never a gate.
What if I want out?
Month-to-month, you cancel and you're done. Annual is paid up front and non-refundable once the term starts — which is exactly why Pioneers get six months free from their first Flare job before any of that starts. You'll know whether this works well before you pay a dollar. Your data exports in full, any time, free, whether you're leaving or not.
How is this different from Thumbtack or Angi?
They sell the same lead to several businesses and charge every one of you whether you win the job or not. Flare doesn't sell leads at all. A customer near you sees you, picks you, and contacts you — one business, one job. Your subscription doesn't move based on how much work you get.
I'm one guy with a truck. Is this too much?
It's free. The first seat is included in Basic, so a solo operator pays $0 a month and still gets the map, the profile, the scheduling and the QuickBooks export. You start paying when you hire your first person.
Do my customers have to download an app?
No. Your QR code and your profile link work in any browser. The app is for people who want to browse who's working near them.
What stops somebody from marking a job done and charging me?
The customer starts the payment — always. A crew tapping "done" sends a confirmation request, not a charge. Completion is geofenced to the job address, photos have to come from the in-app camera at the site, and there's a before/after pair on every job. If the customer goes quiet, it auto-confirms in 24 hours so honest work doesn't sit unpaid.
Why metro Detroit only?
Because a map is worthless until it's dense. A hundred businesses across Detroit, Ferndale, Royal Oak, Warren, Dearborn and Southfield is enough for a customer to open the app and find somebody. A hundred businesses across America is nothing. We earn the next city.
When does it actually launch?
The countdown at the top is the target. But the real gate is the Pioneer counter — 100 businesses. Fill it early and we launch early; that's not marketing, that's just how a two-sided map works.
